String Maven, LLC
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the services offered by String Maven, LLC (“String Maven,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including:
- the String Maven marketing website at stringmaven.com (and related pages);
- the String Maven web application at app.stringmaven.com, including when installed as a progressive web app (“PWA”) on your device (collectively, the “Website” and “App,” and together with related features, the “Services”).
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
If you use the Services on behalf of a business or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” refers to that organization.
1. Who the Services are for
String Maven provides software for racquet stringers and related businesses to manage customers, string jobs, racquet specifications, optional invoicing, and related workflows. The Services are intended for business and professional use, not for children.
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter, including information about your customers.
2. Accounts and security
Registration. You may need an account to use most features. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials confidential.
Your responsibility. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly at info@stringmaven.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
Suspension and termination. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, misuse the Services, or if we reasonably believe your conduct could harm us, other users, or third parties. If your account is terminated for cause, you may not re-register without our permission.
3. Your content and customer data
Your data. You may store information in the Services, including customer names, contact details, stringing preferences, job history, notes, invoice line items and amounts, shop billing settings (such as payment instructions), and related business records (“Your Content”).
Ownership. As between you and String Maven, you retain ownership of Your Content. You grant String Maven a limited license to host, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Services.
Your obligations. You represent that you have a lawful basis to collect and use customer information you enter (for example, consent or a legitimate business relationship). You are responsible for:
- obtaining any permissions needed to contact your customers (including by email);
- the content of messages you send through the Services (such as pickup-ready notifications and invoices, including amounts, tax lines if shown, and payment instructions);
- the accuracy of invoice and billing information you enter and send;
- complying with applicable laws (including marketing, privacy, tax, and consumer protection laws).
String Maven does not provide legal, tax, or accounting advice about your obligations to your customers or about invoicing.
Your business records and backups. You are responsible for maintaining your own business records and meeting your compliance obligations. We recommend that you periodically export or back up important data you store in the Services (including customer, job, racquet, inventory, and invoicing records). String Maven is not responsible for losses resulting from accidental deletion, corruption, unauthorized access to your account, or your inability to access stored data, except to the extent required by applicable law and subject to Section 13 (Limitation of liability).
4. Communications features
The Services may allow you to send transactional messages to your customers (for example, email when a racquet is ready for pickup, or invoice emails with amounts due and payment instructions you configure). Messages are sent using our email infrastructure on your behalf. Delivery is not guaranteed. You must not use the Services for spam, unlawful solicitations, or content that violates these Terms.
Invoicing. Optional invoicing features help you communicate amounts owed for stringing work. String Maven is not a payment processor: we do not collect card payments, hold funds, or guarantee that customers pay you. You are solely responsible for invoice content, applicable taxes or disclosures, and payment methods you describe to customers.
SMS, messaging apps, or other channels may be added or changed over time. Any channel made available will be subject to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
5. Find a Stringer (if available)
Some users may opt in to appear on a public “Find a Stringer” map or directory on our marketing site. If you opt in, you control what business and location information is displayed. Visitors may submit inquiries to you through that feature.
You agree not to misuse inquiry information and to handle visitor data in accordance with applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Services for any unlawful purpose;
- violate others’ rights (including intellectual property and privacy);
- upload malware or attempt to disrupt or bypass security;
- scrape, crawl, or reverse engineer the Services except as permitted by law;
- impersonate others or provide false information;
- harass, abuse, or discriminate against others;
- use the Services to send unsolicited marketing without proper consent.
We may investigate violations and cooperate with law enforcement where required.
7. Third-party services and links
The Services rely on third-party providers (for example, hosting, authentication, email delivery, and analytics). The Services may also link to third-party websites (including our marketing site). We are not responsible for third-party sites or services. Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and policies.
8. Service availability (no SLA)
String Maven does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, uptime, or error-free operation of the Services. The Services are provided on an “as available” basis.
We do not commit to any minimum uptime percentage, response time, recovery time, or other service level unless we expressly agree otherwise in a separate written agreement signed by String Maven (for example, an enterprise order form or master services agreement).
Maintenance, updates, outages, and technical issues — including those affecting our hosting, database, email, or other providers — may temporarily affect availability. We may perform scheduled or emergency maintenance without prior notice where reasonably necessary to protect or improve the Services.
9. Beta and preview features
From time to time we may offer preview, beta, or experimental features (including features labeled beta, preview, or similar). Such features:
- may contain bugs or errors;
- may change, be limited, or be removed at any time without notice;
- may not be suitable for production or business-critical use;
- are provided “as is” without the same level of support, reliability, or availability as generally available features.
By using beta or preview features, you accept these limitations. Feedback you provide about such features may be used to improve the Services without obligation to you.
10. Racquet catalog and stringing pattern information
The Services may include a racquet catalog with stringing patterns, tensions, lengths, skip patterns, tie-off points, and related specifications (“Catalog Data”). Catalog Data is a reference aid for professional stringers. It is not a substitute for your own verification before performing stringing work.
How we compile Catalog Data. We maintain catalog records using a baseline catalog and, when available, independent cross-reference sources — for example, manufacturer stringing documents (including PDFs where linked), individually cited manufacturer or retailer web pages, reviewed community submissions, and other materials we log and compare. We aim to align records with manufacturer documentation and to increase cross-reference depth over time. Coverage, source availability, and review status vary by model.
No guarantee of accuracy. Catalog Data may be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Errors can arise from typographical mistakes, manual data entry, automated extraction or OCR, differences between one-piece and two-piece methods, model year or variant confusion, manufacturer changes after publication, or conflicting sources. We do not warrant that Catalog Data is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for any particular racquet or stringing method.
Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for confirming pattern and stringing details — including against the physical racquet, manufacturer materials, and your professional judgment — before stringing. If the Services link to a manufacturer PDF or similar document, that link is provided for convenience. You must still verify that displayed fields match the document and the racquet you are stringing.
Manufacturer and third-party materials. Racquet brand names, logos, and documents displayed or linked in the Services may belong to third parties. We do not control third-party documents and are not responsible for their content, availability, or updates.
11. Intellectual property
The Services, including software, design, text, graphics, logos, and trademarks (other than Your Content), are owned by String Maven or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks except as needed to use the Services.
Racquet brand names, logos, and specifications displayed in the Services may belong to third parties.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STRING MAVEN DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that data will never be lost (see Section 8). Catalog Data and stringing specifications are provided for convenience only and without any warranty of accuracy (see Section 10). Beta and preview features are provided without warranty (see Section 9). Invoicing tools are provided for convenience; you are responsible for verifying totals, tax treatment, and payment instructions before sending invoices to customers.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
Excluded damages. STRING MAVEN AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICES — INCLUDING ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR RELIANCE ON CATALOG DATA, STRINGING SPECIFICATIONS, OR LINKED MANUFACTURER DOCUMENTS (SUCH AS A MISTYPED PATTERN, INCORRECT TENSION RANGE, OR STRINGING ERROR), SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS, BETA FEATURES, OR LOSS OR CORRUPTION OF YOUR CONTENT.
The limitations in this Section apply whether claims are based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other theory, and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
14. Force majeure
String Maven will not be liable for any delay, failure, or interruption in the Services (including loss of data, access, or functionality) caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: internet or telecommunications outages; failures or outages of cloud, hosting, database, email, or other infrastructure providers; power failures; natural disasters; fires; floods; epidemics or pandemics; labor disputes or strikes; acts of government, courts, or regulators; war, terrorism, or civil unrest; or cyberattacks and other third-party service failures.
Our obligations under these Terms will be suspended for the duration of such events, to the extent permitted by law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless String Maven and its affiliates from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Services (including invoices and payment instructions you send), your communications with your customers, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
16. Changes to the Services and Terms
We may modify the Services or these Terms from time to time. We will post updated Terms on stringmaven.com/terms-of-use with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the Services or by email where appropriate.
Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
You agree that exclusive jurisdiction and venue for disputes arising from these Terms or the Services will be in the state or federal courts located in New Hampshire, and you waive any objection to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
18. General
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and String Maven regarding the Services.
Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
